My recap of documenta 15, which takes place every five years in Kassel. The curatorship of this edition was entrusted to the group of artists ruangrupa, who chose the term “lumbung” for the title, an Indonesian term that refers to the culture of sharing, composting and harvesting, which permeates many aspects of the exhibition. It is no coincidence that the curatorial vision of the collective, expressed in the documenta 15 manual, is that “art is rooted in life. Instead of commissioning new works of art, for documenta 15 we wanted to show the processes that generate them’.
